SYNOPSIS:

A sexy dramedy about a mother-daughter trip to an island paradise amidst layered loss. LELA (an exiled Kurdish-Iranian mother) and JUNE (her mixed daughter) take a trip to the Azores (a beautiful island off the coast of Portugal) to enjoy life again, after the loss of their family patriarch. But they can’t escape grief: when they learn a young Kurdish-Iranian woman was killed and the Woman Life Freedom movement begins, their conflicting coping mechanisms are triggered. Lela doubles down on feeling down, while June races towards pleasure. If life is short, she’s determined to enjoy herself. But neither can run from the balance, or each other.
